April's Quilt & Etc.
Don't you just "love" putting a 1,000 piece puzzle together only to discover that its only a 999 piece puzzle? What about 991 pieces?
Last August, someone gave us a wolf shaped puzzle which was a dilly to work but imagine our chagrin when we discovered 9 pieces missing. I was pretty confident that Kaitlyn was guilty unless proven innocent as I had to get after her for trying to help us. She also was in this jag of putting buttons and other odds and ends in bags and carrying them around. We left the puzzle on the board just in case we found them....but we didn't. Then last week I was cleaning the loom room getting ready for company. I saw a cloth bag hanging on the closet door and decided to put it away. Oh, there was something in it; a toy tractor and its implement, a rag and NINE puzzle pieces!!!
So, we finished the puzzle with gusto. We'll probably make a wall hanging of it for Jonny's bedroom.
Have I told you how much I love my Accuquilt GO! fabric cutter? This past week I cut out 2 quilt tops with it. One is a Dresden Plate and the other is a type of pinwheel using red, white and blue fabric. I am not sure when I'll get them sewn but they went into ziplock bags until that time.
I did get a quilt done this month-- I call it Kaitlyn's Butterfly Garden. This is her birthday gift but I wonder if it will be her next birthday before I finish quilting it. I don't enjoy the quilting part.

Polly Patchworker gave me an idea when she posted some Kaleidoscope pictures. I have a type of one but its a tube with a clear glass ball at the end. There are 2 mirrors in the tube forming a V. So the design comes from what ever you look at through it. Very interesting. Its for knitters and quilters to see if colors go together. I wish I could remember the name of it but I got mine at Knitpicks yarns. I don't use it like I thought I would but the children love playing with it. Tiana took some pictures. A couple were her dresses, one was of Kaity's pink tennis shoes.

I had more but they don't let me upload any more. I'll try later. tootledo

I've wondered so much about how people like the Accuquilt Go cutters. Did you also cut out the squares with it or just the butterflies? I've seen some amazing quilts made with them. One of my favorite blogs is http://blog.maryquilts.com/2011/04/27/the-best-of-both-worlds/ and I know she uses the accuquilt Go for a lot of her quilts.
Loved seeing your Kaleidoscope pictures. Isn't it fun!?
You have a great day. ~Polly~
@PollythePatchworker - I cut it all by the Go! I think it was a good investment for me.
I'll check that site out. I am more of a traditional quilt piecer so I am always looking for ideas how to use my Go. Yes, the kaleidoscopes are fun. Have a good day too.
I love the wolf puzzle! So funny about the pieces.Glad you found them.
The other pictures are pretty too. Love the quilt.
